Andrew Shein founded The Law Offices of Andrew Shein, P.A. in 2002. Previously, from 1998- 2002, Andrew prosecuted all types of criminal cases including felony, misdemeanor, DUI, and traffic offenses. Before leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Andrew was a prosecutor in the sex crimes/child abuse unit. During his time as a prosecutor, Andrew tried over 60 jury trials where he developed and crafted his trial advocacy skills and techniques and established himself as a criminal trial litigator.

Since 2002, Andrew Shein has been defending and advocating for his clients who have been accused of breaking the law. Andrew uses his 15+ years of courtroom and trial experience in the criminal justice system to aggressively defend his clients and protect their rights. In 2006, Andrew became Board Certified in Criminal Trial law. This honor is bestowed by the Florida Bar Association to attorneys who not only pass a rigorous examination, but have also proven trial experience, vast courtroom skills, and excellent peer reviews. Less than 1% of all attorneys in Florida have achieved Board Certification in Criminal Trial Law.

Andrew grew up in Westchester County, a suburb of New York City. In high school, Andrew was a stellar three sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. Andrew continued playing collegiate football at the University of Albany in upstate New York. At SUNY Albany, Andrew excelled both academically and athletically. Andrew earned 4 Varsity letters with the SUNY Great Danes as a wide receiver and punt returner. In his senior season (1994) Andrew was named the University’s Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year. Andrew also was named to the Academic All-American Football team for his athletic accomplishments but also for his hard work and academic excellence. Andrew graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS degree in the Political Science Honors Program.

Upon graduation, Andrew knew he needed to escape the cold snowy winters. He moved from New York to Tallahassee where he graduated from the Florida State College of Law in 1998. Later that same year, he moved to Tampa where he began his legal career. Of his many successes, Andrew is most proud of the success of his firm. He defines success not just in the longevity of his firm, but also that he has made a significant impact on his clients’ lives. When a case is resolved, his clients and their friends and family continue to count on him as a trusted advisor.

In the legal community, Andrew volunteers with the Florida Bar Association and has also served as the Chairman of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Criminal Law Section. Currently, he is an active member of the HCBA Lawyer Referral Service. Andrew also is a guest lecturer at various colleges and universities in the Tampa Bay area. He usually lectures college students about the consequences of being arrested but he has also lectured students interested in the legal profession.

In the community at large, Andrew is a visible and active participant and volunteer. Throughout the school year, Andrew volunteers at the local YMCA where he is found most evenings teaching and coaching boys and girls the great game of basketball. He was recently honored with the YMCA Charles Naismith award for Volunteer Coach of the Year. Andrew also established and organizes an annual Food & Toy drive at the Hillsborough County Courthouse to benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program to help families in need.

Andrew is also an active congregant and Board Member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
